As a priest and a biologist, Fr. Fred Gaglia found the periodic chart of elements a wonderful expression of the order and adaptability of nature at the chemical level. After many years of teaching the beauty and order of God's creation, Fr. Gaglia began to see a relationship between the periodic table-this order of the elements into groups and functions-and the order and functions of humans for their spiritual growth. About the Author: Fr. Fred R. Gaglia, PhD, KCHS was ordained a priest in 1963. He has a BS from Loyola University Chicago, a MS and MSA from the University of Notre Dame, and a PhD from the University of California, Riverside. Fr. Gaglia has served in Catholic education as professor, principal, and pastor. He was also a producer and director of theater and television and was awarded the Disneyland Community Service Award three times. Fr. Gaglia produced and directed the five-hour Mass event for Saint John Paul II's visit to Los Angeles in 1987. He also taught as adjunct professor of homiletics at St. John Vianney Theological Seminary in Denver. He has published several articles on parish life and youth ministry in national publications such as The Priest and Homiletic & Pastoral Review. In addition he contributed to two books: Guiltless Catholic Parenting and Sacraments from A to Z. Fr. Gaglia is also the author and narrator of the CD How to Pray the Rosary; a Teaching for Children.
