About the Author
Jiro Taniguchi was born August 14th, 1947 in Tottori, Japan. He spent five years as assistant to the late mangaka Kyuta Ishikawa in Tôkyô in the 60’s then debuted himself in 1971 in Young Comic. He created many solo works including Aruku Hito (The Walking Man), Harukana Machi E (A Distant Neighborhood), and Sousaku Sha (Quest for the Missing Girl) and an epic adaptation of Baku Yumemakura’s prize winning novel Kamigami No Itadaki (The Summit of the Gods) into a 1500 page manga. All titles published in English by Fanfare/Ponent Mon. He sadly died on February 11th, 2017.
