Description
Once covered by an inland sea, southeastern Montgomery County was originally inhabited by dinosaurs, some of whose fossils have been found in Bluebell and Port Kennedy near Valley Forge. The area was then settled by the Unami, or Turtle Clan, of the Lenape Nation who came to the area from the west about 600 years before the European settlers. Southeastern Montgomery County provides a glimpse of the towns and villages in this corner of the county through early-20th century images, historical facts, and local stories.
