About the Author


Dr. Richard J. McMurtrey is a physician, scientist, and engineer who has worked in a wide variety of fields, including neuroscience, physics, biochemistry, and biomedical engineering, and he has received many awards, grants, and honors for his research work. He also trained in neurosurgery and critical care, and has made many research advancements in stem cell research and neural tissue engineering, particularly with 3D reconstruction and regeneration of neural tissue. In his spare time he enjoys collecting books, playing piano, and exploring the outdoors through alpine climbing, mountaineering, and trail running.
