Description
This is the 6th full length book of poems for Emma. She is the love of McLean's life & his perfect muse. These poems discuss the usual themes, drawing on Lyotard on intensity as well as Deleuze & Guattari on becoming animal. The goddess features prominently in the book, as does Emma, mental illness, BDSM, sexuality, & more. McLean continues his relentless critique of temporality as a consequence of linguistic structure that has separated humans from beasts, the Earth, & the goddess, while throwing them into world & history, where they have become so deeply corrupted that the only answer is something like McLean's form of posthumanist antinatalism. Unlike many antinatalists, McLean is fond of the brutality of "nature red in tooth & claw". He likes that sort of thing. It's just humans he wants to see less of; the life of the beast has value. Huge thanks to Emma Holtze for the cover image & making the cover with him.
