Description

Born on September 11, 1985, Kevin Stillwater has lost one family member after another on his birthday, including both of his parents at the Pentagon in 2001. As a result, Kevin grew up troubled and afraid his birthday would ultimately lead to the extinction of his entire family. Although born into wealth, Jeremiah Flint follows his uncle Solomon into a career in law enforcement. While working for the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, he befriends Kevin and enlists the young man's computer hacking skills to find his nephew, Ivan, who is missing in the foster care system. As Kevin's 21st birthday approaches, Jeremiah fights for his life, Ivan is kidnapped, and Kevin's last remaining brother is shot down in a helicopter. On September 11, 2006, the race is on to save Jeremiah, rescue Ivan, and stop Kevin from trying to end the family curse by committing suicide.

About the Author

Reaona Hemmingway lives in Topeka, Kansas where she is a member of the Kansas Authors Club. During her college year, she studied Creative Writing along with getting a degree in mathematics. She currently works in accounting, but likes to spend her free time writing, knitting, and walking with her yellow Labrador retriever. When asked if she's related to Ernest Hemingway, the answer is 'yes.' They're eleventh cousins, twice removed. Genealogy aside, her writing style is very different. After reading her first novel, Baseball Card Hero, fellow author Max Yoho wrote, "My main gripe about so many writers is that they don't really think. Sometimes I feel they don't even reread their work, much less bother to do rewrite. This is certainly not a problem for you. I can feel and see the thinking in your clear presentation and word choice. Congratulations on a very professional job."
