About the Author
Born in the Adirondack mountains near the Akwasasne and St. Regis Mohawk Reservations, Little Owl grew up learning traditional skills from various elders. He started powwowing at a very young age and has powwowed throughout the eastern United States for more than 30 years. He was honored with a membership in the Indian Arts and Crafts Association (IACA) in March 2004. Little Owl has won many ribbons at numerous Powwow Arts & Crafts Competitions for various items including stone carving, basketry, regalia items, paintings (acrylic on canvas) and jewelry. These are only a few of the mediums that Little Owl works in. Little Owl currently resides in central Ohio with his wife, Mindy and their dogs (Joanne & Katie).
