About the Author


LAURIE BLOCK, MS, RDN, CDE, is a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator practicing in New York City and San Diego, California. Laurie specializes in diabetes with a particular interest in type 1. She has consulted with diabetes programs throughout the United States and has lectured on behalf of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She is a strong advocate of food and nutrition in the prevention of disease and uses evidence-based recommendations when counseling diverse populations of all age groups. Creative and collaborative in her approach, Laurie combines a traditional treatment method with modern technology to educate individuals about the ever-changing science of nutrition and how it relates to diabetes management.
