This is the history of Ashland, Kentucky through pictures and descriptions. It covers prehistory, Native American mounds and on to the 18^th, 19^th, 20^th and 21^st centuries.

It talks about the pioneers that planted roots on the banks of the Ohio River where Ashland now stands. It talks about mining, iron, coal and how the area has progressed. The Railroads, and Steel mills and the oil refinery all have contributed to the wealth of its people and supplied the nation with much needed materials.

It talks about having fun in the early years at parks and athletic competitions such as baseball and football games. It talks about the faith of the people as you will note the pictures of so many churches.

Ashland has been important to the State of Kentucky ad to the United States. The city of Ashland is noted as the place coal meets iron.
