The story tells the life of David Copperfield from childhood to maturity. Six months after his father died, David was born in Blunderstone, Suffolk, England. David (David) was relatively happy in his early years with his caring, naive mother and kind housekeeper Clara Peggotty. They called him David. When he was seven years old, his mother married Edward Murdstone (Edward Murdstone). To get him out of trouble, David was sent to live with the Peggotty family in Jacobs (Pargotty).
