Always read the labels carefully
Most of the slogans on the packaging in the supermarket advertise the products they contain as healthy, although most of them are not.
Just think of all the beautifully designed and healthy-looking packaging on which all the vitamin promises romp about.
Often times, a small amount of ingredients that are considered healthy are deliberately added to refined foods. Think of vitamins, minerals and omega-3 fatty acids. However, this is done for purely technical reasons so that it can be used for advertising on the packaging.
In this way, the clever advertisers mislead parents who think they are buying something healthy for themselves and their children.
You only realize how much sugar is actually in food when you take a closer look at the nutrition tables on the back of the packaging. Unfortunately, most people don't read this list of ingredients for a product before purchasing it. But even the people who really do this often have a hard time deciding whether the product is good or bad for them because the manufacturers use some tricks to make the ingredient lists a little opaque.
